Belkin wireless router Netgear? Do not detect network, any other solution than to buy new dongle?
I own netgear router and belkin wireless USB adapter. My Mac and my laptop with an integrated NIC connect fine, but I can not find my network Desktop PC. I know this is a common problem as I have already worked for Virgin Media Tech Support, but we have always used just send them back to Belkin! Has anyone developed a way around this problem without having to buy another network card? Added detail: The Belkin is to find other networks, so I know this is not a hardware problem, just an apparent lack of compatibility.
You have posted double. See my answer to your question to see if it helps others. After that, if it still does not detect, try changing your "channel Wireless "on your router on channel 11. To connect to your router, you'll need to access it from a connected machine. If it belkin router, type 192.168.2.1 in your address bar in IE. If this does not work, it will be 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.0 192.168.1.254 or OR (for BT routers). But I'm sure you know all this, being a tech support lol. If it is already on this channel, try channel 6, then 1. They are the three largest chains. My old logitech never worked until I got rid of the crap software Belkin. Follow the steps I told you on another post that you did and you will be graded.
