Motorola’s Half Way Achievements
After the implement of Nokia’s new program for text service in developing country, Motorola continues to finish their half way achievements in order to win the Smartphone market. Last week, Motorola Mobility’s CEO Sanjay Jha stated that the company’s plan for the coming sale season is to broaden its Smartphone portfolio to target three main areas: the high-end, easy-to-use mid-tier devices with affordable data plans, and finally, enterprise devices.
Today, in the Smartphone market, Apple, Nokia, and Motorola are the top three handset manufacturers. And the competition is heating up with the increasing number of cell phone users. Almost every handset enterprise is seeking new service or new technology to expand their market share. As for apple, they probably needn’t worry about the reducing of sale. 30 percent’s cell phone users are not only attracted by their latest advanced app, but the personalization design and features. The only thing they should be worried is the price. Since Nokia who shares the largest mobile phone market begins its next project in Africa by offering text service in a considerable price. It will no doubt increase their market share. In this case, Motorola must be active and introduce new plans.
And now, Motorola begins their new expedition in Smartphone market. Jha aims to strengthen four-quarter Smartphone shipments base on the number of new mid-range devices. Those devices will be launched before the end of this year. By then, Smartphone sales are expected to hit the upper end of the company’s 12 million to 14 million projections.
In order to targeting the enterprise, Motorola already announced the Droid Pro last month. This pro is expected to do well among BlackBerry users through its use of a full keyboard and additional security requirements. Jha also said the strategy is to deliver devices, because 80% of people in enterprises pay for their own device and they like to use for personal use.
Meanwhile, Motorola’s MotoBlur strategy will add new services to Android to set it apart from other Android Smartphone built by HTC or Samsung. According to Jha, Motorola expect to focus a lot more on MOTOBLUR as a service. At the same time, they will provide end-to-end services from a point of view of personalization, customization, as well as diagnostic support. Since Smart phones are getting more and more complex. And consumers need more support to make sure that their devices are working perfectly well.
As for Motorola, there is another competitive advantage, the home appliances. As the pioneer of cell phone development, Motorola has expertise in home appliances, such as set-top boxes, mobile phones and soon tablets. It provides them with the opportunity to add new software capability into those Home devices. And then they can link together with the capability running on top of the OS sitting in the tablet gives them as strong a position as anybody to own this converged experience opportunity in the future.
These extremely rapid developing in Smartphone technology will definitely promote the updating of cell phone accessories, like Bluetooth. Do you have the perfect blue tooth for your cell phone?
