Mobile marketing through SMS and Bluetooth
When you visit a customer stand point you can notice that you are requested to turn your Bluetooth devices on so that the company and your mobile can exchange the data with each other. Transmitter will ask your permission before doing the process. If you give your consent then you can receive what the company will send you. You can on the other hand deny the exchanging before the string of the process. And if you accept it the transmitter would send some data to your mobile and this would contain information that the company is willing you to have about their business. But the fact is this feature needs the customer’s permission for information delivery, and also the customer is needed to be within the range of the transmitter for such data exchange. The Bluetooth hotspot is often used in large shopping malls or customer stand points.
This data exchanging can be in form of text, video, sound file or in any format. And this whole process is called Bluetooth marketing. After SMS marketing strategy Bluetooth marketing strategy is the most innovative in the field of marketing world.
The Bluetooth marketing is one of the cheapest ways of communication. Therefore this method is gradually growing in its popularity in the field of marketing strategy. However, there are still some questions regarding the legality of this type of marketing strategy. However, the fact is that this marketing strategy is still now considered as spam free communication technique. Therefore it can easily be said that the Bluetooth marketing or Proximity marketing strategy is a legal way to communicate with people as long as specific guidelines are followed. Moreover, you cannot Bluetooth marketing as illegal or a means of spamming as before any information send to your mobile you are always asked whether you permit the server to establish connection with your mobile or send any information to your mobile phone.
Other than this marketing form you have other option to promote your product through SMS sending. This method is older than this former stated method. It can be said that after introduction of SMSs this method of sending messages to various customers has been applied in marketing field. This method is helpful because it can be profitable for both company and the customers. The store and forward technique that is used in SMS is a very useful thing. In this method the message you send is stores in the SMSC and then it is send to the recipient. And if the recipient is not within the range or the cell phone is switched off the message can wait for days till the customer turns on his mobile or comes within the range. In this way there is lesser chance for the message getting lost in the mid way. It is better than email marketing coz in emailing your sending messages can be considered as bulk or spam message and can be moved in the customer’s junk mail folder automatically. Therefore it is better to use SMS marketing technique rather than the telephonic conversation and email marketing.
