* What is it?
Bluetooth, it is actually a kind of short distant wireless communication technology. Through Bluetooth technology, it simplifies the communication of mobile communication terminal equipments among the palmtop, laptop and mobile phone, and simplifies the communication between the terminal equipments and the internet. So it speeds the data transmission between the terminal equipments and the internet, and broadens the road for wireless communication. It has been specifically designed as a low cost, low power, radio technology, which is particularly suited to the short range Personal Area Network (PAN) application.
* How does it work?
Bluetooth requires that a low-cost transceiver chip be included in each device. It is essentially a networking standard that connects at two levels: at the physical level and at the protocol level. It connects at the physical level through its radio-frequency standard. It networking transmits data via low-power radio waves with a frequency of 2.45 gigahertz. In the protocol level, Bluetooth-enabled devices have to agree on the types and amount of information sent and received.

The most useful application of it is in mobile communication: most of hands free devices on the market are based on Bluetooth technology. Among them are Bluetooth headsets, car kit , Bluetooth GPS receiver products and Bluetooth mouse etc..
