Garmin 1350 – GPS most effective with a characteristic number and extra
I selected the 1390T because I chose not to get bluetooth. This is the only distinction between the units. I felt the quality bluetooth would be poor based on other opinions on bluetooth normally GPS units. The main cause is in the way most people use Bluetooth. On a typical day, I'm in and out of my car often. I all the time need my Bluetooth immediately in case I get a call. I do not always want my GPS. And since my previous unit was stolen and theft of these models is a big disadvantage in any single place, I want the hidden unit or more generally the removal of the car. So if you're like me but you have this Bluetooth device you want to stop and mount your GPS every time you get in the car if you like it or not, all you need the blue tooth capability. If you happen to neglect and cell phone rings, you do not have bluetooth. So I bought a separate speaker phone Bluetooth Jabra (superb unit that's always attached to my visor, good quality, and any time there when I want. I saved about $ 75 by selecting the 1350T 1390T.
A couple of small disappointments. The characteristic Lane Assist works very well, but will not be available everywhere. I used it around New York and it was helpful. I drove through Pennsylvania and the upstate New York and he was not available. Hypes marketing materials that feature, but they neglect to tell you this one point. But when it is available, it is an interesting option. That brings me to traffic. Same story here. I was driving at through PA and hit a 1 hour visitors jam. No warning function site visitors, as it has not been achieved in this area. Once I arrived at the Scranton, PA area site alerts started working. He warned of a severe blockage and visitors before he even automatically diverted my journey. The redirection would have been an important addition to miles, but it would be useful to take away from traffic, right? I decided to ignore the re-route just to test the device to see if the alert was correct and I used ready to handle the traffic. As I drove my original route, no traffic anywhere. So, if I listened to the monitoring traffic, I might have pushed 50 miles from my system for nothing. The bottom line is, do not let the visitors feature is a deal breaker for the unit you choose. But then again, I got the 1350T for about the same price as the unit of 1350 with similar visitors). Updating the map was more difficult than it should have been. I may also consider myself a very technical person with computers and peripherals, but the updated map does not go smoothly and I took a quantity of tests. I could see the place many people may have a problem with this on occasion they try to update the map.
