What type of video card should I buy or a TV tuner card for Windows Media Center 2005?

Details: I got this computer duo new base ect. a PCI Express 16x and it has Windows Media Center 2005 installed. Well, the questions I have, if I can just by a video card that will work for me as a TV tuner and all the graphics accel. Im interested in hooking my cable TV on my computer to use as a recorder Digital is a media center uses the 2005 a. I want to record live TV and I know I need some sort of TV tuner does not work with just a computer. I do not want to get off air channels with a TV tuner so I can then great, but my main goal is to run my video stream from my supplier cable to the computer and save it to my computer and have outputs to my HDTV. I need a card that can support HDTV MPEG-2 encoding mpeg4 if possible. Any help is appreciated thanks. Question may be a little confused that I do not know myself what it is I should look

I assume you have XP? If so, you need to install the MCE software video decoder. This is typically installed by the manufacturer only if the computer comes with a tuner card. Google MCE decoder it is available, including many from Nvidia. By buying the tuner card, you must be very careful because not all are compatible with MCE, even if they are compatible with XP. The tuner with MCE remote comes with the MCE USB IR receiver and IR Blaster (s). I recommend you look at Hauppauge. There are combined TV and video cards, but I do not recommend it. There have been compatibility issues with MCE lot of them, and video cards are changing so quickly, I do not think it's a good idea to find yourself combined with a board. The tuner (s) is PCI. The video card can be PCIe. A good middle of the road map would be the 7600 GS Nvidia. HDTV in MCE is available only direct or with one of the CableCARD PCs. Email me if you want more information.
