What is the definition of a hands-free mobile phone thats legal to use in the United Kingdom while driving?
Is this simply a phone with speakerphone? or does it have that something else? how can it be literally hands free? he need for recognition Voice?
The answer is in the description of device really. The real offense is to use a mobile phone or handheld communication device while driving a motor vehicle on a road or public place. In other words, if you hold in your hand while driving, you are commit the offense. This includes sending texts, taking pictures or video, time control, using the menu functions or anything that requires you to press the buttons while holding the camera in your hands. If however it was fixed to the dashboard of the car, the offense is not committed and you would be subject to the same laws as other devices in the car, such as GPS or radio, etc., in this use case it led you to not keep control of your vehicle, you would be subject to the offense. Using a definition in law, I do not remember the top of my head but common sense applies. Conduct is under way in controlling the direction and movement of the vehicle. If you're stationary in traffic, you're always classified as driving. If you are towed, you are still driving (jurisprudence). With regard to what is defined as hands free, yet Once this is defined in law, but basically it means something along the lines of a headset that is attached to your ear or ears requires only the press of a button or voice dialing or answering machine at work. Another easy option is to not make calls or respond to any conduct by phone. The caller can leave a message or send a text if its important!
