Are Beats by Dr.Dre Headphones Amazing?
I recently met a gentleman walking around the mall wearing Monster Beats By Dr. Dre Studio headphones and could not resist the urge to ask him how they sounded. He was kind enough to let me have quick listen to his Beats headphones and to say I was impressed would be quite an understatement. This is obvious once you hear what come through these Beats noise cancelling headphones. The bass sounds are rich and full, the mid levels and vocals are clear, clean and sharp, and the highs are crisp and separate without ever distorting or sounding tinny.
But this Beats by Dr. Dre line is not without any faults, i have to admit. There have been many reports of the plastic cracking, and you absolutely have to remember to turn them off when you’re finished listening to them or you’ll spend a ton of money on batteries.
The main competitor brands of the Beats By Dre headphones are industry leaders such as Bose and Sennheiser, so you know these bad boys have really been put through a lot of testing and development to match the criteria. I honestly couldn’t see Dr. Dre putting his name on a studio product that wouldn’t live up to his own high quality standards.
But like I said above, these headphones are not all perfect. With the upcoming release of the Monster Beats Pro series many of the issues that people have with the lower end models have been addressed and taken care of.

Fit and design
While huge headphones are the antithesis of the garden-variety, barely-there earphones that make big in the market nowadays, Monster Beats is a natural head-turner and an eye-candy of sorts. It has sleek, black, padded headband that slides down into a perfect-fitting circle that clings to each of the ear cup, which are encased in a soft leather-like material. On the exterior of each ear cup is a metal disc engraved with a bold red “b”, the right ear cup part of which mutes your sounds when pressed. Unlike other headphones that covers the entire ear, causing you to sweat furiously, Monster Beats is adjustable and feels relatively comfortable. You will love it!
Easy to use
It’s easy to get connected with the Monster Beats. Simply slid the batteries into the compartment beneath the left cup, connect the appropriate cable (one for Mp3 players and another for music phones) from one end of the headphones and the other to your iPhone or MP3 player and voila, you’re ready to live in the music world.
Accessories
Along with the Monster Beats headphones are various accessories in the trademark red and black packaging: two 3.5mm, 4-ft. cables—one red especially made for MP3 players and one black with mic made for mp3-enabled phones; a carrying case with attached carabiner; an airplane adapter and another (quarter-inch) adapter for your home sounds system; an especially-made cleaning cloth for the headphones; and AAA batteries.
Sound quality
If anything, the Monster Beats’ sound quality spells s-h-o-c-k-i-n-g. It gives off a perfectly balanced sound and delivers high-ends exceptionally well. The bass sounds thump, too, but not as much as what you’d usually expect in headphones of the type. The Monster Beats are most extraordinary in music genres, such as rock, heavy metal, electronic and hip-hop.
