What is the best aviation headset you can buy?

Being prior military, I used the issued David Clark headset. Money is no object I simply want the clearest sounding and most comfortable one out there.

David Clark’s civilian line is military quality all around. They are the leaders in the industry and have built their name by there quality products. If money is no object, the simplest choice would be David Clark, but I would only suggest the military style headsets. The newer ones lack the quality and with enough research you will see some faults people have found in the new X11 that was just recently a big deal for David Clark.

Bose X is a no go… For me anyway. Quality product that is just over priced. I’ve also heard both sides of the spectrum as to people liking them.

I work for a company called Acousticom which has been building headsets and parts for the military We also supply microphone and earphone elements to companies like David Clark and Gentex since 1980. We provide our military style civilian headsets, which come with a 5 – to – lifetime warranty.

Now when it comes down to features. Get the ANR. All headsets generally work the same with ANR, so you can’t really go wrong with a brand. It improves your low end noises by eliminating them for clearer listening. Passive headsets lack in clarity – which is why most people like the ANR, but the price increase dramatically.

There is no “best” headset out there. Everyone has their preference. Most people choose the David Clark, but people claim the Bose is god. David Clark uses military components just like Acousticom. Bose unfortunately does not. Comfort is always a battle verse quality.
