For such a small mobile phone the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini delivers a high speed, pleasant user experience!
Sony Ericsson have recently released a new ad campaign to support there new Xperia range which includes the delightful little X10 Mini, this phone comes in a ranged palette of colours to suite anybody’s personality; it has a touch sensitive QVGA display which measures at 2.6 inches diagonally, a slice of the TimeScape overlay has been installed to perform along side the Android OS. The X10 Mini has photography and video covered with a handy digital camera and an FM radio tuner is in place so you can keep up with your favourite shows.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini is probably the smallest Smartphone device ever made, it measures in at a teeny tiny 83 x 50 x 16mm and weighs about as much as fluff at 88g. Its cutesy appearance is added to by the colour variations it is available in, with pink, lime green and red all confirmed along with your basic black, white and silver. Once you pick up the X10 Mini it is so hard to put it down, the handset is so cute yet it delivers a similar performance to its bigger brother the X10, it has inherited a portion of the TimeScape user interface the X10 has which means you get a slightly downscaled version of the social network capabilities and with the Android operating system in the mix which is powered by Google you get full uncensored access to the Android Market so you can download multiple apps to completely customize your own X10 Mini experience to fit your lifestyle. Other Google services include Google Maps which is supported by WisePilot for navigation, Google Talk for IM messaging, and G-Mail for e-mail support and YouTube for video uploading and streaming.
The scaled down TimeScape feature still streams your friend’s messages, updates and tweets for you along with missed calls and texts, they are all chronologically ordered for you so they can be easily found. Your social network accounts can be fully managed from the palm of your hand with this device; Facebook has its own application and Twitter has been integrated into the TimeScape software. The X10 Mini keeps you within a fingers touch of your business and personal e-mail accounts with Exchange ActiveSynch, Hotmail and G-Mail among the esteemed providers. Turbo speed internet is possible with the phones 3G network connectivity and high speed Wi Fi technology, though the screen is quite small it doesn’t hamper your browsing experience, this is because the WebKit browser is so fast and responsive to your commands and the built-in accelerometer is useful for a wider perspective on web pages, which you will take advantage of more often than not.
As expected of mobile technology these days a digital camera has been installed with a 5 mega pixel lens; the picture quality is impressive coming from such a tiny device and the video quality was a surprise too at 640 x 480 pixel resolutions in 3GP format. The pre-loaded walkman will handle all of your musical needs with categorized ordering and multiple playlist slots. The X10 Mini can support an external memory expansion up to 16GB via the microSD slot, so you can save tons of tunes, videos and images to your mobile handset and enhanced Bluetooth technology means you can share it all with friends via wireless connectivity.
This impressive little beast is a real shocker, for such a small mobile phone the X10 Mini delivers a high speed, pleasant user experience; it looks adorable and its mid range price tag makes it quite accessible. The colour availability and Android Market exposure mean you can truly make this phone your own and all of your social network activity is covered with its unique overlay.
