Advice on connecting my DTV converter box?
I have a Sears 12 black and white tv inches from 1982. It is not red cable (not taken AV). I do not want to throw it as he still works great. The antennas on the tv are as follows: a right antenna (can telescope) screwed into the TV and a loop antenna on the back of the TV. Looking at the back of the tv, on the left side of several centimeters below the right antenna with 4 Phillips screws and letters VHF and UHF. White and gray with son "U" shaped metal pieces are held by the screw? All suggestions for connecting the DTV converter box? I have a separate set of "rabbit ears" and connected to the antenna "in" hole on the back converter box. However, I do not know where to put the son of the "antenna" on tv. Where can I connect the wire from the "antenna" hole? I have a Balume 75 ohms to 300 ohms (transformer). Thank you.
There are two types of 75 ohm to 300 ohm baluns. The kind you need like a cylinder with two son comes out at the end. Both son to set the VHF screw terminals. Unplug the existing terminals son VHF. If you're not going to reuse UHF loop, you can leave it attached to the UHF terminals. It will always capture the 14-69 analog channels until they are closed. You can need a new antenna, but first you must determine the type of antenna you need. Go to the first link below and watch "transition post 'table in your area. You need to know if your area" Real "are all UHF channels (14-69) or if you also have VHF (2-13) stations. If all the "real" channel numbers are between 14 and 69, then you can probably use the current UHF antenna to your converter. To attach the loop of the box you'll need some type of balun, the type that is "L" with two screw terminals. If the loop does give you a pretty good digital reception on "real" channels 14-69, then you will need a better UHF antenna. If you have any local stations digital "real" channels 2-13, you're probably better off buying a new TV VHF / UHFantenna. If you get a good analog reception with your current antennas, a $ 10 rabbit ear base (with built in UHF loop / figure 
model is probably OK.
