History
Harmony was created in 2001 by Canada company, Easy Zapper and first sold in November 2001. The company subsequently changed its name to Intrigue Technologies and was located Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It was then acquired by computer peripheral manufacturer Logitech May 2004 for twenty-nine million dollars.

Harmony 360
The Harmony 360 is pre-configured for use with the Xbox 360, and special buttons, X, Y, A, B, and the media control center, in conjunction with the same as that found on the original Xbox controllers. It has a screen Backlit LCD and uses four AAA batteries.
Harmony 510/515
The Harmony 510/515 is an entry level remote which is essentially a replacement for the 500 series and the Xbox 360. It has touches of color typical of most satellite boxes. It has a four-button monochrome LCD screen. This distance is limited to controlling only 5 devices.
Harmony 520/525, 550/555
Harmony 520 Remote and 550 is a midrange distance is identical in functionality to the Harmony 659 and 670, but with a different button layout and a squared-off design from physical design hourglass 6xx series. It has a backlit monochrome LCD screen. Compared to 520, 550 has two additional buttons, made of quality materials and has more color backlight different. Compared to 515/520/525, 555 has a port learning (add favorite functions from an old remote is simpleou simply point your Harmony learning port).
Harmony 620
The Harmony 620 is functionally identical to the Harmony 670, but is available in black instead of silverlack. The 670 can use up to 15 devices, where the 620 can use 12 devices.
Harmony 659

The Harmony 659 is another mid-range universal remote that offers most of the functionality in Harmony line. It has a monochrome LCD screen.
Harmony 670
The Harmony 670 is a mid-range remote Universal offers the most functionality in the Harmony line. The 670 has a monochrome LCD screen and puts the DVR functions in the middle of the remote control.

Harmony 720
The Harmony 720 was initially offered exclusively by Costco in 2006 and also a color screen and backlit keys. It seems it was designed as an inexpensive competitor to Harmony early 880, with little difference except for the ergonomic design and layout of buttons. It is now available through other suppliers, but is not listed on the product page of Logitech.
Harmony buttons up and down with four colored buttons used for teletext and more recently by some decoders.
There was a short 880Pro have buttons image and sound. This remote was not supported multiroomulticontroller as the 890Pro.
Harmony 890/895
Harmony 890/895 is the same as the 880/885, but it adds radio frequency (RF) component for the remote control devices, even without line of sight from several rooms and up to a distance of 30 meters. It should Note that the remote can not control proprietary RF devices, but it can control special Z-Wave RF devices as well as IR devices without line of view by extending RF.
The 890Pro (no 895Pro) adds multi-room multi-controller (remote primary and secondary can be put in place working with the same wireless extender) and the support of different colors. It also adds two buttons (image and Sound) allowing quick access to image and sound-related commands. It is not listed on the Logitech website and are sold by Custom installation companies. The 890Pro is not supplied with the RF Extender.
Harmony 1000
The Harmony 1000 Customizable touch controls, sound and a rechargeable battery, and allows control of 15 aircraft. It is also compatible with the RF Extender.
Harmony 1100
Adds QVGA resolution touch screen and allows control of 15 aircraft. The user interface of the Harmony 1100 is now based Flash vs. Java base in the Harmony 1000.
Harmony One
The most recent (from January 2008 [update day]) in the range of products, the Harmony One remote features a color touch screen and is rechargeable. It makes no RF capability. A review CNET TV stated that it is one of the best universal remotes on the market today.

RF Wireless Extender
The Harmony RF Wireless Extender allows certain remote Harmony (eg 1000 and 1100) to pilot schemes using radio frequencies rather than infrared. It allows devices drivers greater distances and through certain obstacles. The Harmony 1000 is limited to an RF Extender, while the 1100 can use several.
Harmony Remote Software
The Remote software allows users to update the remote configuration, learn IR commands, and upgrade the firmware on the remote.
Early versions of software on the remote control have been based on a browser only. The new versions are based on Java, but the software still requires constant Internet connectivity at work, such as command codes are retrieved upon request from Logitech, which updates database product and distance codes and sequences to be easily distributed. This also allows Logitech to monitor their markets to determine products for investigation and research. Harmony control software is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. A group of developers working on the Harmony software to the Linux platform.
