What is the ethics of going over your head bosses incompetent?
On occasion, I worked for certain employers who make terrible decisions incredible hurt morale and business efficiency and bottom line. In many cases their boss is so busy that they are not able to understand how my boss is incompetent. What is the highest legal and ethical way to handle an incompetent boss? Should I try to contact his supervisor? Have you ever been successful on the head with a bad boss?
Ethically almost all offices have an open door policy, you can talk to whomever you want … realistically you should first talk to your boss explain the situation and see if you can come to a compromise satisfying both … if not let them know that you are not satisfied with this solution, let them think a day or more .. then talk to their boss .. explain that you've already talked to your immediate supervisor and wanted bring this matter to their attention …. let them handle it from there … if you spend your immediate supervisor, without first talking to them not retaliate Immediate happens .. that would be illegal … HOWEVER, it is a career limiting move very … you would probably not be promoted in this department all new .. and if the owner is very popular in society in this business .. in areas where many people hop jobs (IT) I have seen People lose jobs to more than one business … if it seems unfair to you .. Imagine how you would like to be griped by your boss for something one of your workers have never discussed with you …
