Is it possible to "soften" hardened caps headphones?
So a few months ago I bought a set of headphones provided with in-ear soft caps. I can not remember if they were silicone or other soft plastic, but after a few months of use, they became covered in wax and hard as rocks. They can not bend at all. I could get new ones, but I love the color and they have been unable to find replacements. They seem to own the design of headphones. I suppose I could get new ones if necessary, but I want just know if I can "soften" them in the boots in a chemical or something else. Is it the wax?
I soaked mine overnight, in a small container of rubbing alcohol. I do not know why it works, but I found a hint to run a swab alcohol through my windshield wiper blades to keep them flexible. It worked, so I figured it would be useful to my headphones sweet yet he did.
