great little netbook – no bluetooth
Had just missed the big box of $ 280 Black Friday against a few hours. Really wanted a kind orderd this for more than Amazon Cyber ??Monday night. Arrived 3 days later via UPS ground shipping available. After playing with this a few days now, the wife and I really appreciate the larger keys and screen glare. (At large breakfast table near a window) Got the touch pad compound to respond (still get the occasional unexpected movement). Anyway a couple of problems here. You can not use this netbook right away because when you turn it remains to complete the installation of the OS. Then he wants to partition the hard disk 250. (I moved the cursor to set mine to 40 GB for the OS drive C: / and the rest as drive D: /) Then a bunch of updates and assorted nonsense unknown. Finally After about an hour, you can use. But it seems awfully slow until you make a new update of drivers different etc. mines retained dropping connection to my wireless router N. Has finally been able to maintain the relationship long enough to update the receiver's internal wireless adapter, good solid connection thereafter. A little bland, Win7 Starter does not allow you to change your wallpaper and no Aero Glass transparency, no center media or other such goodies. Quickly made "all time" on the upgrade thing online for Win7 home premium. Big difference. Nice and pretty and more enjoyable now, corresponding to the layer of chrome trim unit. More dumped McAfee for the Microsoft Security Essentials. Re-skin burlwood design [...]. This little netbook processor N280 works well with Win 7 when my Acer Aspire One (N270 and 2 GB) was a little slow, even with a clean install. Highly recommend this Samsung netbook. Just keep in mind: The leaflet is only software, under Start> All Programs> Samsung> User's Guide. It does not appear to have blue tooth feature with this device that I can find. Also for better performance with streaming videos (Eg Netflix instant play movies), press Fn and F8 keys simultaneously to change the power settings. Also be sure to install the standard of 2GB memory, periodicaly go to the website of Samsung and get the updates you want, including bios. Keep it defragged and virus-free and enjoy!

Wi fi needs replaced
I bought the Samsung netbook and it worked fine, except for wi-fi. He gave up a lot. He did not drop the router, it decreased the DNS or the Internet news and I was constantly having to make a repair on the wi-fi back on the Internet. I returned to Amazon and they returned my purchase price in less than a week. I'll buy from them again as This was faster than I ever had money back from any retailer.

Samsung N140 first review!
I think I'm the first to examine this issue. Let me I have the N120 and is a great computer, we had that one about 5 months.
I just got the N140 yesterday. I will do good things than bad about the n140 – but all and all I love the matte screen, I hope they had an option to display / keypad with white rather than black, my wife is white and so easy to see everything in any ambient light.
Good and bad:
Even robust body Samsung, you feel safe holding this baby around 2.8 pounds.
They added one case to closure zip, a little thicker and pleasant SAMSUNG printed on the top so as not provided upsaide down and you always know where the front is.
Most of all ports (USB, VGA, POWER) are all on the opposite side of the N120 – I know the N140 is based on the N10 series, but the saddest feature you could have stolen the N120 is the wonderful speakers embedded around the screen. He boomed on you.
They moved card slot multi drive to the center which is a blessing on the N120, it is on the right side and your palm just above the wrist grabs much while typing.
I'm mean (Only in 2 days) over 8 hours of battery life – wow. I thought of adding the second concert RAM (it took the N120) and speeds of the Vista operating system based on well. I push this concert is really necessary and some of SEVEN small programs will use all your RAM – or the computer to go 2GIG, but the N140 needs the upgrade and the N120, it is no longer a luxury item.
The Burgundy (so I guess most dark field) appear almost black to muted ambient light, bright light that you can uder see the true color that you paid for.
I wanted to add about the matte finish. It is a joy, much wider viewing angle of the screen shiny (glossy washes reflection of light and it is difficult to see on the sides, probably the angle of view is realistic two brilliant close to 6 to 8 feet away (which is far from a 10 inch screen).
The matte display passed all my tests – move your head comparison of visualization perfect angle and see where the image loses quality, honestly striking distance, I have not seen a side to side and the loss of little squatting to standing position.
I think you have a system of 5 bars in Win7, I have not had to show my signal strength. It is only 5 empty silos waiting to be filled – I show no activity at all bar. I know I'm connected and I think I should be able to see my strengths rather than as a signal indicator bar empty – hmmm, need to play with that one.
Imporant! If you watch the videos of [...] the N140, look at the ENTER and shiftKey right – you will see two different type, I guess somewhere in Europe or the combination of these two buttons is aacceptable – BUT "here United States "we need a full sized right Shift key, nothing less. The combokey has what is called a half-wrench, wrench width letters and numbers. ENTER key is a full / double shifts and where it becomes a problem is the following:
When you type, your muscle memory knows where to put the fingers, often slows down the cause of people doubted that their fingers wanted to do …. If you type as many of us do not massively long letters, etc. Your finger will hit the UP ARROW RIGHT SHIFT intead of almost all the time and is difficult to break, if you use more on the keyboard, whether at work or at home.
Instead of hitting the Shift key as you hit the up arrow and the cursor leaves your position and you must return it and if you miss it, you might be typing without thinking of new stuff in the center e of a non-related paragraph.
So full-size Shift key can be one of the most important things to keep in mind. As far as I can tell, we all bought N140 2 shifts comprehensive, just check if images online ordering to be safe.

I think the speakers are not in the other screen bothers me most, who loved ha this option, in most configurations room you do not need external speakers or headphones with the N120, N140 l 'is not as strong, I see a pair of stereo speakers at the front – in the N120, there was a subwhoofer there (which did not base course), but it adds to the intensity with the two other speakers blasting from virtually on the movie you look.
Speaking of which, I just swapped the 2GIG memory until the N140, so I have not retried and [...] more important Fancast for me of our TV shows we watch all the wee, but I have not tried it yet. Like Fancast because we can find a night I'm not working and both of us catch up with 3 or 4:01 shows we know it will be online and ready to watch virtually no advertising. This makes for a night on the couch huggy:)
My point, the N140 has had many problems with high definition video, which the N120 does not. I hope that to solve the problem with new RAM upgrade, I'll add a post update in a few days.
I can not evaluate 4.5 stars, I would. Having Bluetooth available, larger keyboards and more comfortable every e Samsung is making a flight to the $ 372, which includes S & H is $ 6 more the cause of Burgundy paint. The only other available color is the blue emerald, but it looked like an image of paper paints a swimming pool. I chose the Burgundy. The power switch is now a slide switch to righhand under the front of the touchpad – you just slide the switch to the right end for about 1 second and it runs on – starting about 45 seconds (30 on the N120) You can really hit by accident if you pick up the computer and place your finger on the switch – but the switch is highly fact, has good resistance to accidental switching and I think I like that better than the N120 was near the hinge of the lid, rear right, you can easily press the power switch as yhou enter in the case.
As you can tell, I'm in usability and structure of the machine, many people can fully speed. Yet Once I've done nothing with the extra gig of RAM even though it is installed – I need a follow-up, but I would not like that SAMSUNG unable to make the N140 "two GIG" factory shipped Netbook, people willing to pay a reasonable cost difference if you get this kind of increase performance.
RESULTS Important Update
After a few days, I re-examination of the N140 and the fall of the only four-star rating for the following reasons.
First, I have two concerts in this (borrowed the 2 gig chip that is compatible N120 from my wife – but even with 2 GB of the N140 is still not as fast as the N120 using XP.
I thought the idea was to give more Win7 faster, thinner and more friendly XP user characteristics. The N140 comes with Win7 Starter (a bad thing for them to do so, he must have at least home installed, although I must pay the difference in license), but the starter is OK if you choose to use stuff that is not typical Word Excel and others – I prefer the Open Source as Open Office and [...] that work well in the two netbooks.
So Win7 is not as Starter faster with the chip using 2280 GIG RAM, the N120 is 270 chip and 1 gig RAM. I was hoping at least one link, but I prefer the speed and reliability XP over the WIN7 – which is pretty nifty features that you expect to get with Win7. Be careful control and search options with Win7 Home (it may not be an option, Windows has severe restrictions on the netbook market, including chipset options, etc.
Hind site, I would have bought a N120 second – the thought is valid, although I hope that the improvement of Win 7 (will cost $ 70 or more), it will be more functional for me moderately skilled user. That's what I expected because, after all.
Samsung delivers a product STILL GREAT – This matte screen is AWESOME, a 9 out of 10 review from me. The keyboard is a pleasure to use as much as ANY VA netbook. It has an operating system that are not ideal for a 1.66 GHz processor, so I think the problem is.
Then you must be a little more patient when speed is your problem, the N120 XP'ed kicking the tail of the N140 with Win7 Starter. Because it is a bad choice to give a computer owner, literally forcing many to pay for the upgrade, rather than simply choose as a luxury item – I give the new show a rating of 4 out of 5 stars, unfortunately I take back what was output 4.6 of 5 if they allowed until I have dealt with slow processing programs.
Otherwise, another great-MACHINE – it is a little show an almost perfect film, but one of the stupid scene up launches a major wrench into the plot – at least as you see. Other can not get the screw and the plot for them, it's a perfect movie, I'm picky when testing new items like these Netbooks awesome – who are extremely nice to have around as a second or third home computer, available to the way catchers ever.
Worldwide Today, this technology have much in such a portable package, if you can afford the $ 370 cost of these is probably the thing most Smart family or someone more on the road could do a really great use of – to enrich their lives, awesome stocking stuffer for any family.
