What is a good microphone for voice?
I would like to record some voice sound decent music but I'm not sure this type of microphone to obtain. I heard so much about condenser microphones, dynamic microphones, cardioid, etc. .. microphones and so many brands such as Shure, Sennheiser, Samson and so on. All I'm looking for is to record some voice sounds good in my room (which is hardly a sound studio quality). The problem I have with my current (headset) mic is that it simply does not reflect my true voice very well (See an example here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD9DtGaNmLY) I like the one in the price range of low to mid-but all suggestions are welcome. I simply asked my diction teacher the same thing! Classes in diction and voice, we use the microphone by Blue Yeti. It runs about $ 150 if I remember correctly. two more affordable options from Blue that my teacher said about work, so are the Snowball and Snowflake. I'm not sure we would be most effective for you, but you should definitely check them line. From what I have seen the Yeti, it registers well in any room acoustics and sound recording very faithful to it:) Joyful song!
