HP laptop and HP bluetooth mouse….?
I have an HP laptop and it came with a wireless mouse, problem is, I don’t know how to connect it to my computer, do you know how I do that’? thanks.
I did turn on bluetooth and I did turn on the mouse, obviously. It won’t connect and I don’t what else to try.
if its a bluetooth mouse, then you should check on your taskbar for a bluetooth icon. if its there, right click it and select ‘add device’ (or something like that). Now make sure your mouse is on, and follow the on screen instructions.
Check the mouse manual for further info.
If you do not see the icon, check control panel. If its in control panel, do the same.If there is no bluetooth icon at all, there are 2 possibilities- no bluetooth hardware or no bluetooth software. Check the driver CDs that came with the laptop and try to install the bluetooth driver.
If your mouse is not detected, ten it could mean that the mouse is an infra-red wireless mouse. If so, search for a USB device resembling a flash drive in the HP box. If yo find, plug it in and he mouse should start working.
TIP: could it be that your mouse needs to be charged or the batteries changed? remember, mouse cannot work without power!
UPDATE:
Just select ‘add device’ by right clicking the bluetooth icon on your taskbar and selecting. Now click ‘search’. If your mouse is turned on, it will be detected. Now, select the mouse and click ‘next’. Now you will be asked to enter a passkey (a number that ensures that only you can connect to the mouse). This number can be found in the mouse manual. enter it and click ‘next’. Hopefully,you would have successfully paired the mouse to the laptop.
Now go to “my bluetooth places(or similar)” from the icon on your desktop, open the mouse and connect the necessary service.
