Adapting to the culture of your workplace more quickly new: A Self-Study Guide
New employees are rarely effective during our first month at work. We're too busy learning expectations often lead to cultural confusion of our new place of work. Some organizations are quite explicit about what they want. However, it is the unspoken, the standards assume that the cause us the most anxiety and reduce our effectiveness. Expectations about Time
Time, as they say, is money. Thus, it is important to note how people treat time with respect to the start and for meetings, length of presentations, important deadlines, expectations about the duration of various tasks should take, etc. We should be careful when people arrive and leave work. Policies official time are often at odds with the actual standards. Some organizations claim to have "flex time", for example, but it does not people actually use it. Formality of relationships
The way people communicate with each differs significantly in all media professionals. Some workplaces are serious. Others are informal and social. Rules on how to dress have become very diverse. Suits and ties are still the norm in some organizations. Other places "hate relationship" a friend told me recently. Did you know that some organizations are waiting to give you money (eg, $ 3 for a charity) to dress down on Friday? "Dress Down Monday" also put into practice. Apparently, some companies try to make Monday a little less painful. In addition, the terms that people use for clothing can be very confusing.
