How to Connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to your console

Because the Xbox 360 does not contain built-in support for WiFi networks, you will need to buy an add-on external adapter if you want Wireless networking your Xbox. The Xbox 360 wireless network adapter from Microsoft is an option. Microsoft wireless adapter is compatible with virtually any any home network, as it supports all three popular wireless standards of local area networks (802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g).
Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter is connects directly to the back of your Xbox 360.
To connect the adapter to your Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:
1. Connect the adapter's tabs for two slots on the back of your console, near the Ethernet port and audio-visual (AV) port.
2. Disconnect all cables connected to the Ethernet port, then plug the USB port next to the adapter.
3. Deploy the antenna.
Note
The antenna is designed to pivot on one axis. Do not swivel the antenna in a direction other than parallel adapter.
Important
Do not use the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter or its antenna to lift the console. The adapter could break, and the console could fall.
You need the Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to connect your Xbox 360 to your wireless network. None of Generic USB network adapters work with the Xbox 360. There are some other options to connect without re-wiring your house or buy the official Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter using some hardware replacement.
